Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Tuesday. Nitish Kumar met PM as the flood conditions aggravate in the Bihar state.
Reportedly, homes of two lakh people have been destroyed and more than 5 lakh people are affected due to the flood in Bihar.
After the meeting, Kumar said, “We have requested the PM to send a team of experts to visit the state and review the situation. It is essential to increase the absorption capacity of the river Ganga including deepening the river bed.”
Highlighting the problem of silting of rivers, he said, “River is getting shallow due to the deposition of silt and that’s why we are facing worst floods.”
Floods have damaged more than 20 districts. But complete info can be given after damage assessment.
The complete information of the damage is not yet come out but floods in Bihar have damaged more than 20 districts and the flood has disrupted normal life. Many schools and colleges have been closed too.
