Nitish ditched Grand alliance to seek power: Kapil Sibal

New Delhi, July 27, 2017: A massive political storm triggered in Bihar after Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation as Chief Minister and broke the 20-month-old Grand Alliance with the RJD and Congress.

Calling it a Bihar Tamasha, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said that “the ugly face of rank opportunism makes us cynical of politics and politicians.”

While seeking support for power, Sibal added that the Grand alliance ditched for power.

This is the same Nitish Kumar who left NDA alliance in 2013 for not accepting a man (Narendra Modi) with spots of communal violence. But joined hands with Fodder Scam convict Lalu Prasad Yadav in 2015 and become a part of Bihar’s Mahagathbandhan, the Grand Alliance against Modi.

Kumar was in National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for 17 years, but just before 2015 Bihar Assembly polls, Nitish had sent lakhs of hair samples to Narendra Modi and had said, “Examine the DNA of a Bihari”, as a dramatic gesture to Modi’s tasteless quip.

Interestingly, Nitish again shows his colour after opposing the Mahagathbandhan at the time of Demonetisation when the whole alliance was against the government’s decision but he cornered everyone and comes in support.

Thereafter, he again chooses different way and supports NDA’s presidential candidate.
