New Delhi, June 8: Continuing the recently launched “Sampark for Samarthan” initiative by the BJP, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met veteran Bollywood script writer Salim Khan and his son, actor Salman Khan, at their residence in Mumbai.

Launched in May, the initiative was devised to generate awareness about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s achievements over the last four years.

The Bharatiya Janata Party launched the contact programme after the NDA government completed four years.

The former BJP president presented to Salim Khan some booklets highlighting the achievements of the Modi government in the last four years.

“Met Sri Salim Khan ji and Salman Khan as part of Sampark for Samarthan campaign. Have discussed the achievement and initiative of Modi government in last 4 years,”the Union minister tweeted after the meeting.

The meetings come two days after BJP President Amit Shah met former actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene, industrialist Ratan Tata and ally Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray as part of the initiative in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Party officials said that several other such meetings with prominent personalities shall be lined up over the next few months under the initiative in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra.
