New Delhi, May 6: When reports emerged that a biopic is in work on badminton star Saina Nehwal, speculation were on rife that Deepika Padukone may play the role.
But speculations sided after actress Shraddha Kapoor was finalised for it. Now a film on silver medalist badminton player P.V. Sindhu is in making, but Deepika stated that she has never been approached for any biopic.
“I have never been approached for any biopic, to be honest. I do have a background in badminton, but I have never been approached for any biopic,” Deepika, daughter of celebrated badminton player Prakash Padukone, told IANS over phone from Mumbai.
The actress played her bit of badminton before entering into modelling and Bollywood.
However, For playing the role of Sindhu, no official declaration regarding its lead actress has been made yet by Sonu Sood, who is producing the film.
Currently Deepika is busy in the shooting of “Padmavati”, and she is looking forward to her visit to Cannes for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which she will go to as the recently named worldwide brand envoy for corrective goliath L’Oréal Paris.
On Friday, she launched the brand’s Cannes Collection 2017 inspired by theme #LifeatCannes in Mumbai. She revealed that she will go to the occasion on May 17 and May 18 alongside global co-envoys Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon among others.
From India, even former Miss World ”Aishwarya Rai Bachchan” and Style Icon ”Sonam Kapoor” will grace the red carpet.
