Katrina Kaif Mexico

New Delhi, July 14 After 16 years of surviving in the Bollywood, actress Katrina Kaif, says one needs to have nerves of steel to be in the glitzy world of Hindi cinema.

“It’s not always easy. You need to have nerves of steel to be in the film industry. It’s an unpredictable place and no one can guarantee success. I believe in not taking success to your head, or failure to your heart,” Katrina told .

She tags her 16-year run in Hindi films as a beautiful journey. “It’s been wonderful, a lot of hard work but also a lot of love from the audience,” she said.

Hong Kong-born British beauty Katrina, who celebrates her birthday on July 16, is currently vacationing in Mexico. Over the weekend she has been setting social media afire with holiday snapshots and videos on Instagram .On Saturday, a picture of Katrina in blue swimsuit went viral in no time.

The break comes after hectic months of work when Katrina gave most of her time to her last few releases — “Thugs Of Hindostan” with Aamir Khan, “Zero” with Shah Rukh Khan, and “Bharat” with Salman Khan. Fans loved her performances in “Zero” and “Bharat”, particularly.

Considering her next release is “Sooryavanshi” opposite Akshay Kumar, it would seem like she has become the staple choice primarily of the senior superstars in the industry.

“I don’t really analyse things that much. I prefer looking ahead rather than dissecting the past and believe the best is yet to come,” she said.

The Hong Kong-born beauty has had an enviable hit count, of course, over the years. Despite a dud debut in the 2003 crossover film, “Boom”, she soon made her mark with her distinct screen presence in the films to come. Roles in “Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya”, “Namastey London”, “Singh Is Kinng”, “New York”, “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”, “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, “Ek Tha Tiger”, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, “Tiger Zinda Hai”, Zero” and her latest release “Bharat” made her a top star.

During her turbulent career, Katrina has had her share of bouquets and brickbats. Today, she has established herself in Bollywood and is one of India’s highest-paid actresses, but she still feels she has a long way to go to prove herself.

“(I have) miles to go. The point is to try and get better, to portray different characters, and to work harder with every film,” she said.

The current phase, when she has had lots of love coming her way for her craft in “Zero” and “Bharat”, is the “best thing” to have happened to her, she feels.

“My work is giving a huge amount of creative satisfaction and I’m really enjoying discovering these characters,” added the 35-year-old, about her recent roles.

Katrina is counted among Bollywood’s top dancers what with blockbusters such as “Chikni Chameli” (“Agneepath”), “Sheila ki jawaani” (“Tees Maar Khan”) and “Kamli” (“Dhoom 3”) and she has now added another feather to her cap. She is now venturing into film production and says she is looking forward to bankrolling some great stories.

“(I will make) the kind of films I would want to watch as an audience — great stories that deserve to be told,” she signed off.

Bengaluru, Jan 28 : Tamil superstar Rajinikanth suffered no injuries during the shoot of Discovery Channel’s popular programme ‘Man vs Wild’ in Bandipur Tiger Reserve, an official said on Tuesday.

“It is all false. As per the screenplay, there was a shot in which Rajinikanth had to fall, so while getting down from the rope, he just fell down and everybody rushed. It was all in the screenplay,” T. Balachandra, the reserve’s director and conservator of forests, told IANS.

Later, Rajnikanth got up, completed the shoot and left for Chennai, said Balachandra.

According to the Bandipur Tiger Reserve director, the Tamil superstar was fine and did not suffer any injury.

“He was fine. That shot was from the Mysuru airport,” Balachandra said, referring to a video which went viral, showing Rajinikanth walking to the airport in Mysuru.

Balachandra dismissed the news of Rajinikanth’s injury as fake news.

Earlier on Tuesday, Rajinikanth visited Karnataka’s Bandipur Tiger Reserve to shoot an episode of ‘Man vs Wild’ with host Bear Grylls.

“We gave permission for 6-8 hours to Discovery Channel to shoot in Bandipur Tiger Reserve,” said Balachandra.

He said the one-day shoot began at 11 a.m. on Tuesday and ended by 4 p.m.

“They paid as per the norms. Per day they have to pay documentary fee, vehicle fee and others. For four days, they paid Rs 10 lakh,” Balachandra said.

Balachandra said Rajinikanth spent five hours in the forest and will not return as his shoot was only for one day.

Bandipur Tiger Reserve, an 874 sq km national park, was formed by integrating most of the forest areas of erstwhile Venugopala Wildlife Park established in 1941, and later enlarged to its current state in Chamarajanagar district, about 220 km southwest of Bengaluru.

The tiger reserve lists 28 species of mammals to be present in the forest, including royal Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, common leopard, bonnet macaque, Indian pipestrelle and barking deer, among others.

Meanwhile, the state’s chief wildlife warden Sanjay Mohan said that this was not the first time a Discovery Channel documentary was shot in the reserve.

“Lot of documentaries were shot in Bandipur. I have urged Discovery Channel that they must show the efforts being made by the Karnataka forest department day and night in saving the forest wildlife,” Mohan told IANS.

The chief wildlife warden is looking forward to a good name for the tiger reserve and recognition to the forest staff with this programme.

In August 2019, Grylls had hosted Prime Minister Modi in the show, which was shot at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand in February last year.

In ‘Man vs Wild’, former British serviceman Grylls showcases survival strategies in extreme challenging conditions in the most remote locations around the world.

However, Discovery Channel’s India spokesperson Krapika Singh Jat told IANS that the channel had nothing to say when asked about Rajinikanth shooting for Man vs Wild with Grylls in Bandipur Tiger Reserve.
