NDA’s candidate Venkaiah Naidu files nomination for Vice Presidential Election

July 18, New Delhi: NDA’s candidate Venkaiah Naidu today filed his nomination for upcoming Vice Presidential Election.

He was accompanied by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, BJP president Amit Shah and party’s other senior leaders.

Naidu met veteran BJP leaders L.K. Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi at their residences here before filing his nomination.

Yesterday, Bhartiya Janata Party’s president announced Naidu name as  NDA candidate for vice president election, which is scheduled to be held on August 5.

M Venkaiah Naidu resigned as union minister last night after BJP nominated him as its candidate against Mahatma Gandhi’s grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi, the opposition’s nominee.

Later in a day, opposition’s presidential nominee Gopal Krishna Gandhi will also file his nomination.
