New Delhi, June 30: NDA-ruled states are still waiting for the ache din as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Niti Aayog, the policy think tank of the Government of India, has found insufficient development works on health and education in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Gujarat’s industrial district of Dahod topped the first Delta ranking released on Friday by NITI Aayog that captures incremental improvements of aspirational districts on health, education and other development parameters.
Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand are under-performing on social indicators, and are at the bottom of the of the list on health and education. “Begusarai, Banka and Khagaria were among the worst-performing districts in Bihar,six worst-performing districts came from UP, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.” the report said.
While Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir earned the worst-performer tag.The first delta ranking of the aspirational districts has listed Dahod (Gujarat), West Sikkim, Ramanathapuram (Tamil Nadu), Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh), and Y.S.R (Andhra Pradesh) as top five who have made most of the progress on improving performances on education and health.
While non-NDA sates such as Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu have been shown to have made most of the progress.
