Jaipur, Aug 11: In a blistering attack, Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that the Narendra Modi led centre has purchased one Rafale aircraft at Rs 1,600 crore, which UPA government had bought an aeroplane at Rs 540 crore.
Addressing a rally at Jaipur’s Ramlila ground, Gandhi hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying stated “Anil Ambani’s company was formed just a week before the deal and PM Modi personally handed the deal to Reliance. The price of Rafale aircraft was increased by 3 times”.

“UPA govt had purchased an aeroplane for Rs 540 crore while the Prime Minister himself gave Rs 1600 crore to the French company for 1 aircraft,” asserted Gandhi.
“UPA government had given the Rafale deal to HAL. When PM Modi visited, he took Reliance’s Anil Ambani with him and gave him the deal, despite having no experience in defence sector”.
The Congress leader told the gathering that when he raised the issue of Rafale Scam and corruption in Parliament, the Prime Minister did not even spare a minute to answer his questions.
“Anil Ambani has a debt of Rs 45000Cr, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar himself admitted to not having any knowledge of the change in the deal”.
Continuing his attack on PM Modi, Rahul said that Prime Minister has failed in all fronts.
“PM Modi promised 2 crore jobs, Rs 15Lakh in every account and women’s safety, but failed in all fronts”.
“All across the country, Dalits, Aadivasis and minorities are oppressed, women are gangraped, but, PM Modi does not utter a word in support of the oppressed”, he added.
Taking potshots at the Bharatiya Janata Party over women safety, he stated In Uttar Pradesh, a BJP MLA rapes a woman. Instead of protecting the woman, the saffron party government supports the rapists.
The Congress President was in Jaipur, where he launched the election campaign in for the upcoming elections.
