Varanasi , April 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday filed his nomination papers from Varanasi parliamentary constituency for the 2019 general elections.
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Shiromani Akali Dal chief Parkash Singh Badal, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Lok Janshakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan were seen accompanying PM Modi.
Leaders of the AIADMK, the Apna Dal and the North-East Democratic Alliance also made their presence.
Ahead of filing documents, the Prime Minsiter offered prayers at Kaal Bhairav Temple.
The high profile constituency will witness a triangular contest between Modi, Congress candidate Ajay Rai and Samajwadi Party’s Shalini Yadav on May 19.
