Mumbai Potholes: Police detain NCP workers staging protest against BMC

Mumbai, July 19: The Mumbai police on Thursday detained several Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers who had staged a protest against Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) over the issue of pothole-riddled roads in the city.

One of the Protesters told media “As Mumbaikars, we are filling these potholes because we no more trust BMC”.

Incessant rains for the last few days battered Mumbai roads. In the last two weeks, five people have lost their lives due to the bad condition of the roads.

Pothole-ridden roads claimed four lives in Kalyan area, while another death was reported from Navi Mumbai.

In all these accidents, victims lost balance and fell after their two-wheelers hit a pothole.
