Mumbai, March 17 : The Leader of Opposition in BMC, Ravi Raja, has written a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and alleged that BMC is trying save the culprits in the incident when a section of the foot overbridge near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station collapsed on Thursday in which six people lost their lives and 34 people have been injured in the accident.
Raja demanded a judicial probe by a retired High Court judge in connection with the incident where part of a foot over bridge near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station in south Mumbai collapsed on March 14.
In his letter, Ravi Raja has alleged that BMC is trying to save the actual culprits behind the incident, so a judicial probe should be done.
As the Lok Sabha elections right around the corner,Shiv Sena is trying o save
Bharatiya Janata Party.
Uddhav Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena said in an editorial in its mouthpiece Saamana that the expansion of Mumbai and its ever increasing population has been causing infrastructure failure.
Nowhere in the editorial did the party mention who was actually responsible for a portion foot over bridge (FOB) collapsing on Thursday evening near the busy Mumbai CSMT railway station, that killed six people and injured more than 30.
Nor did the party blame the Maharashtra government led by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is in an alliance with the Sena, or the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
In fact, the party said that the government has given compensation to family members of the deceased and will look after the injured. It added that the opposition will keep indulging in politics over the issue.
