Mumbai: Bars, Hotels to remain open till late on 31st December

Mumbai, Dec 29: The Maharashtra Government on Saturday issued orders that bars, hotels, and pubs can remain open on the night of 31st December in Mumbai.

The development reportedly took place after Shiv Sena Youth wing chief Aditya Thackeray wrote to a letterMaharashtra CM Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to allow hotels, markets, and entertainment establishments to remain open on New year’s eve.

Speaking on security on the evening of 31st December, Manjunath Singe, DCP Mumbai Police PRO told media “Over 40,000 security personnel will be deployed across Mumbai”.

“To stop harassment of women, officers in civil dress will also be deployed. Live camera monitoring will be done”, he added.
