Mumbai: BARC scientist’s son found dead, Police probing all angles

Mumbai, Oct 5 : Twelve days after the 17-year-old-son of a scientist working at the Bhabha Atomic Resea­r­ch Centre (BARC) went missing, Navi Mumbai police found his body on Mora Sagari beach near Uran in Uran Creek on Thursday afternoon.

Naman Dutt,  son of a BARC scientist Bhaskar Dutta, was last seen leaving his building at 10.30 pm on Sept 23 and boarded a CSMT-bound train at 1am.

Police is investigating the cause of death and looking at all angles including suicide or any foul play.

BARC scientist is a resident of Vashi .

According to his mother Chandra Ramamurthy, a psychiatrist, her son was battling depression and undergoing treatment for it.

Her mother said, “Police is cooperating with us but we haven’t come across any evidence of his whereabouts. He is on treatment for depression and was recovering.”

The Vashi police have registered a missing complaint and had been searching for him.

According to reports , the 17-year-old boy was last seen boarding a CSTM bound train from Vashi station.
