Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passed away at the AIIMS hospital in New Delhi earlier on Thursday.
He was admitted in AIIMS for the past 14 days and was on ventilator support.
79-year-old Sayeed, the chief of the People’s Democratic PArty (PDP), part of the ruling alliance in Jammu and Kashmir ,was detected with sepsis, decreased blood counts and pneumonia, was admitted to the hospital on December 24, with complains of neck pain and fever.
Since then, he continued to be in the Intensive Care Unit of AIIMS with his platelets dropped dangerously low.
