Mouni Roy is hitting the headlines, the most. As the film ‘gold’ goes on floor, Mouni shared a picture where she is seen dancing, and we wonder if this is her happy dance for the big break that she has got in Bollywood.

“Mouni will be seen in a completely different avatar to suit the era.

We saw Akshay’s first look from the film Gold, and thanks to producer Ritesh Sidhwani we also know that the team is currently shooting in London. He confirmed the news on Twitter on July 1 and wrote, “#Gold on the field tom all the best @akshaykumar @kagtireema @Roymouni @kapoorkkunal @TheAmitSadh #sunnykaushal #vineetsingh.”

Farhan Akhtar‏ too had wished the Gold team and tweeted, “All the best team Gold. #firstdayofshoot @kagtireema @akshaykumar @TheAmitSadh @kapoorkkunal @Roymouni #sunnykaushal #cast&crew.” To this Mouni Roy replied, “Thank you sir.”

As per media reports, Mouni Roy will have to shoot for about 20-25 days for the film. For her role in the film she needs to don an Indian avatar, and as we see her latest post dancing in an Indian attire, we cannot stop ourselves from making a connection with the film.

Gold, is a period sports drama based on the 1948 London Olympics. The central plot is about how independent India won its first Gold medal in hockey. The movie will mark Mouni’s acting debut on the big screen, she was seen last year in ‘Tum Bin 2’ in which she had a special number. Fans are just excited and waiting to see this popular television actor’s look too the film too.

Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor also play pivotal roles in he film, and were in fact in London before Akshay Kumar. They were being trained in the sport under different coaches for their role. The film also stars Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Singh.

Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Excel Entertainment, Gold is slated to release on August 2018.

Sexual favours happen in entertainment, political world: Shatrughan Sinha

Mumbai, April 26 (IANS) After choreographer Saroj Khan and senior Congress leader Renuka Chowdhary, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha says sexual favours are demanded in and given in both the entertainment and the political world.

“Neither Saroj Khan nor Renuka Chowdhary is wrong. Sexual favours are demanded and given in both the entertainment world and in politics. It’s an old and time-tested way of getting ahead in life. ‘You please me I’ll please you’.

“This has been happening since time immemorial. What is there to get so upset about,” Sinha said.

Defending Khan, he said: “Saroj Khan’s contribution to choreography and to shaping the careers of Rekha, Madhuri Dixit and the late much-missed Sridevi, was invaluable. Saroj Khan is a legend in her own right.

“She often speaks from her heart and lets emotional correctness rule over political correctness. If she said that girls have to compromise sexually in Bollywood, she must be aware of what goes on.”

Sinha himself does not deny the existence of the casting couch.

“I completely agree with both Saroj and Renuka. I know the kind of compromises girls have to make to get into films. Perhaps Sarojji has herself gone through her own pain and humiliation.

“As for politics, I don’t know what we can call the casting couch in politics maybe the casting-vote couch. Of course the young aspiring brigade is known to offer sexual favours and of course the senior brigade is known to accept.

“I am not saying it is right. I would never be part of such a compromise. But we cannot shut our eyes to the reality around us. Don’t condemn Sarojji for speaking the truth.

“Condemn those who create a situation where girls and boys feel they have to compromise to get ahead in life.”

However, Sinha is quick to point out — like Khan — that the casting couch is a personal choice.

“What happens on the couch or wherever two people come together, is a matter of personal choice. No one is forcing any girl or boy to lie down on the couch. You have something to give and you are offering it to someone who is interested. Where is the coercion or compulsion.?”

Mumbai, April 25: Three of Bollywood’s celebrated actors — Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Sonam Kapoor — known for mincing no words on issues, refrained from commenting on the prevalence of the casting couch in the film industry a day after veteran choreographer Saroj Khan’s controversial remark.

The three actresses, along with newcomer Shikha Talsania, were present at the trailer launch of their upcoming film “Veere Di Wedding” here on Wednesday. During the interaction with media, they were asked for their opinion on the casting couch in the Indian film industry.

Swara, who is known for being very vocal about women empowerment and gender equality, said: “Firstly, this topic has nothing to do with our film ‘Veere Di Wedding’, and I think today we should keep our focus on the film. For the rest of thing, you please come on my Twitter timeline.”

Adding to that, Kareena said: “I do not think we should divert focus from this film. This is a very special film, and we have put a lot of effort. I think the film should get its relevant attention.”

Sonam promised to answer questions on the casting couch and women empowerment when she gives personal interviews for the movie.

“I would like to say that all these questions which are not related to film, I promise that we will answer them on one-on-one interactions with you people. But not today. We are trying to keep the focus on the film. We will talk about it in our personal time.”

Produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the film “Veere Di Wedding” is releasing on June 1.

Saroj Khan, at an event in Sangli, had said the casting couch had been happening since the beginning of time, and that it was not restricted to the film industry where “it provides a livelihood at least”. She later retracted and apologised for the comment.
