Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be rated as the worst prime minister if a survey is conducted as Modi first gave false promises to the people of the country just to seize power, then misled the electorate to sustain it and now wants to retain the Prime Ministership by appealing again to the public to give him another five years to complete the unfinished work. It appears BJP and Modi’s single point agenda is to change the Constitution of India as per their desires and transform the country into Hindu state on the lines of Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel.
The BJP led NDA government is trying to divert people’s attention from its failure in Jammu and Kashmir, as south Kashmir has gradually emerged as a hotbed of new-age militancy backed mainly by Pakistan and the urban hub has been turned into a breeding ground for the Islamic State. Modi has no policy to stop Kashmiris from joining terror groups, rather former finance minister Arun Jaitley has allotted a meager Rs 2.95 lakh crore for defence for the period 2018-19, thus decreasing the defence Budget.
The Indian military’s combat effectiveness is already in a bad shape with obsolete and aging armaments. The army is in dire need of Technology weapons, combat vehicles, battle tanks as well as modern ammunition.
Modi listens and reply to each and every minute thing about his launched programmes or which he believes will add to his propaganda or marketing, for instance recently when he posted his exercise regime video as a part of accepting fitness challenge but he keeps it a point to maintain a deafening silence on the problems of the country: to the increasing number of lynching incidents, spike in rape cases, poor law and order, worsening economic situation and the division being created in society which is already riddled with fault lines.
There is now a growing perception that Modi and his ministers are promoting mob violence to polarise the environment of the country in such a way that Bharatiya Janta Party returns to power at the centre in 2019 lok Sabha polls. This is evident from the fact that PM Modi while making his fifth and final Independence Day speech before the 2019 general elections, the prime minister put the spotlight on all the schemes launched by his government since being voted to power in 2014 but fails to condemn its own ministers, spokespersons, workers or RSS men for the lynching incidents. Union Minister Jayant Sinha honoured eight men convicted in mob violence.
Another Union Minister, Giriraj Singh, triggered a controversy as he met and extended support to several riots-accused leaders who are currently in Nawada jail. If any opposition leader would have dared to honour the protester or terrorists with garlands, the Modi led government would have charged them with sedition law.
Seeing the callous attitude of the government, Supreme court took cognizance of the illegal killings and directed the centre to enact a law so that the mob lynchers should be sternly punished.
Cattle smugglers, cow vigilantes, cow slaughter are the words and terms that have taken precedence over others to enter our lexicon. Modi government has instilled terror in the minds and hearts of the middle class and poor people over mob violence on one pretext or the other.
Modi’s policy for Indian polity and internal security has deepened the country’s polarisation by way of promoting lynching culture in the name of cow vigilantes or child abductor and softening its approach towards persons accused of mob lynching.
Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and BJP is to be blamed for the wounded security personnel’s in Jammu and Kashmir during stone-pelting incidents. As many as 11,566 security personnel were injured in 4,736 stone-pelting incidents in the Kashmir valley during the last three years, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti had said in the legislative council in February. As many as 110 civilians and two policemen also lost their lives during these incidents, it added.
While politicians of ruling party continue to divert the attention of the people from the failure of the BJP led NDA government at the centre and the previous BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir. The IS flags first appeared in Kashmir in 2014, near Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, a stronghold of senior separatist Mirwaiz Umar Farooq.
The Central government deliberately shifted the blame of Jammu and Kashmir unrest to the previous regimes and then manipulated the situation in such a way that Army men and security forces become the casualty of their dirty politics. The government initially ordered the security personnel to use pellet guns to contain protests and when terror groups of Pakistan and Islamic State exploited the situation by recruiting Kashmiris, government again failed to check the alienation and started upon a blame game.
Hindu extremism in India has caught world attention as it is being perceived that incidents of mob violence are manufactured and meticulously planned attacks by organised Hindu fundamentalists.
Modi’s main aim is to remain in power and prevent Congress to retake the Prime Ministership and welfare of the people is a far cry, to fulfill his ambition, Modi is manipulating the minds of the people. The alleged scams that occurred during his tenure by his ministers, Chief ministers of BJP ruled states including BJP President Amit Shah are being brushed off summarily even without conducting any probe.
Modi is behaving as a dictator in the guise of a democratic leader, as no one can raise question about the Rafale deal or the scams conducted by his government, nor anyone can question on his policies. Modi will praise himself, his government and his policies and the environment of the country created under his leadership where suicides in every section of the society has increased.
