Modi’s Minister Giriraj Singh meets Riot accused Right-Wing Leaders In Jail

Patna, July 8 :Another Union Minister  from Narendra Modi government, Giriraj Singh acted in a controversial manner by publicly showing his support for riots -accused Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad activists by  meeting them in Bihar’s Nawada jail .

Giriraj Singh visited Bihar’s Nawada jail  and met Bajrang Dal’s Jitendra Pratap and VHP’s Kailash Vishwakarma , the jailed right-wing leaders on Saturday. The meeting lasted for 30 minutes.

After the meeting, the Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises expressed grief over the arrest of the activists saying they were framed.
Accusing the  Nitish Kumar government of witch-hunt,Singh further accused the Nitish Kumar-led state government of having a mindset of suppressing Hindus for communal harmony.

“It is unfortunate the way Jitu Ji and Kailash Ji have been framed. When tension arose during Ram Navami in 2017, they resumed peace in the area. They did the same when an idol of goddess Durga was vandalised in Akbarpur.”

“It is very saddening to see that the government feels that communal harmony will be there only if they suppress Hindus. I request the State government and the society to let go of this kind of attitude,” said Singh.

Singh also met the families of  accused of clashes in Nawada that took place after an idol was vandalised in March. “They’ve always helped maintain peace in all situations. How can you call them rioters? The administration should see if they really incited violence,” he said.

Jitendra Pratap alias Jitu, the Bajrang Dal’s district coordinator, was arrested Tuesday in connection with the communal clashes that had erupted in April 2017 around the festival of Ram Navami.

Bajrang Dal’s Jitendra Pratap and VHP’s Kailash Vishwakarma were arrested four days ago for their alleged role in Ram Navami clashes.
