Modi’s G-20 summit visit a ‘photo opportunity’, Says Congress

New Delhi, July 8: Congress Party today stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s G-20 summit visit was a photo opportunity, rather than foreign policy.

“Prime Minister Modi’s visit to G-20 was a photo opportunity not a foreign policy,” Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar told news agency ANI.

He further asserted that if Prime Minister Modi was ready to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Naga leaders, then why doesn’t he hold talk with Geelani in Jammu and Kashmir and Maoists in Bastar?

Aiyar questioned Why does PM Modi have such a two-faced policy.

The Congress leader’s remark comes a day after Prime Minister Modi had a conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS leaders’ informal gathering in Hamburg, Germany amid of Sikkim standoff.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Gopal Baglay also shared a picture of  Prime Minister Modi and the Chinese President on his Twitter handle.
