Modi’s diplomatic failure in securing jobs and safety for Indians abroad

It is pertinent to mention that Information Technology (IT) was introduced by Former Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1985 that uplifted IT industry to heights and highly skilled Indians earned a name in the world.

The world has given up globalisation and every country is pressed hard to providing jobs to its own citizens simultaneously shunting out the skilled foreigners and Modi who  has ruled Gujarat for 15 years in a row and even after assuming power at the centre for more than two and a half years (more than 17 years) has done nothing to create information Technology jobs for highly skilled professionals. It is pertinent to mention that Information Technology (IT) was introduced by Former Prime minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1985  that uplifted IT industry to heights and highly skilled Indians earned a name in the world.

Every new concept has a certain cycle and Rajiv Gandhi could wisely visualize that the cycle of Information Technology (IT) and globalisation would last for more than  30 years and India could reap the benefits of this opportunity. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi is only interested in spreading anarchy at home and creating difficulties for Indians employed abroad.

Indians are being attacked in the United States and are also not at all favoured for hiring due to Donald Trump’s policies. Further, the suspension of expediting premium processing of H1B visas eliminated the option of hiring skilled Indians for work at US companies. The H1B visa program is for highly skilled foreigners to work at US companies like industries, including IT, engineering, journalism, medicine and academia

Modi who has been touting for close US-India ties has failed miserably on his foreign policy. Indian outsourcing giants Infosys, origin shows Tata consultancy Services who were earlier hiring graduates in India and then posting them to overseas customer locations, are now compelled to change their strategies by hiring more engineers from US Universities. Thus adding to the woes of unemployed engineers in India. Modi failed to create any industry or highly skilled jobs at home while.

Trump’s policies have adversely affected the $150-billion Indian outsourcing industry. With the recent spate of racial attacks against the persoorigin shows utter failure of Modi government on  diplomatic front  for not securing the interests of Indians abroad. What a scenario, Thanks to Modi government?

A series of apparent hate crimes targeting members of the Indian community

  • Srinivas Kuchibhotla was killed  and Alok Madsani was injured as Adam Purinton shot them in Kansas on Februaury 22.
  • A 43 year old Indian origin Harnish Patel was shot dead outside his home in Lancaster on March2.
  • A 39 year old Sikh man named Deep Rai was injured when an unidentified person shot him on March 3.
  • An Indian origin girl was racially abused on a train by an African- American man in New York on feb 23.

The anti-immigration policies are now being followed even in Australia, countries in European Union and trend may also be followed in Canada.
