The Kisan Yatra led by Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi reached Ghatampur on Wednesday.
Gandhi addressed the farmer at Ghatampur he made his remarks on Modi: “Modi poisons the society and makes Indians fight each other.”
He also catered to the problems farmers are facing there and he assured that if Congress party is voted to power in Uttar Pradesh then all the loans of the farmers would be put aside.
“It is unfortunate that the pain and problems of the farmers are not reaching the Prime Minister,” he said.
Rahul accused Samajwadi Party (SP), BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for doing nothing for the people in Uttar Pradesh.
“Their (SP, BSP and BJP) governments have only looted the people and given nothing to them,” he alleged.
The congress wants to take UP on the path of success. Rahul said that this 2,500 km Kisan Yatra is for the farmers, to cater to their problems and highlight them.
Asked on his statement that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was a “good boy”, Gandhi said he had cordial relations with politicians in many parties and no negative meaning should be drawn from his comment.
“I also respect Mayawatiji, but somehow I don’t gel well with Modiji,” he said.
The Congress leader is scheduled to hold a roadshow in Kanpur and spend the night in the city. Rahul’s Kisan Yatra began at Deoria and will conclude in New Delhi.
