New Delhi, July 6 : Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the political crisis orchestrated by the BJP leadership in Karnataka, the Congress party on Saturday coined acronym “MODI- Mischievously Orchestrated Defections in India”.
Speaking to media over the resignations of 11 MLAs, eight from Congress and three from JD(S) of the coalition government in the state, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said, “A new symbol of horse trading politics has emerged in the country, MODI – Mischievously Orchestrated Defections in India.”
Kumaraswamy used term “Operation Kamala”for the poaching attempt by the BJP.
He further accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to topple the Karnataka government, which has been “democratically elected”. The Congress spokesperson said that the democracy has been disintegrated.
The 225-member Assembly, including one nominated, the Congress has 79 excluding the Speaker, JD-S 37 and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 105.
