SEp 27 : Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vinay Katiyar called on the Modi government to formulate a law to build the Ram Temple on the lines of the Somnath Temple and said the Supreme Court ruling will have no bearing on the main Ayodhya title suit.
His comments came ahead of the Supreme Court verdict on a matter related to the Ayodhya case. He said the judgement will have no bearing on the main Ayodhya title suit.
“The Congress is trying to mislead the nation and is further trying to delay the construction of Ram Temple. We are getting impatient. We want Ram Temple without delay,” Katiyar said.
He also hit out at Congress president Rahul Gandhi, saying he is “an imposter who becomes a Ram Bhakt when he goes to Chitrakoot, becomes a Shiv Bhakt when he comes to Amethi and becomes something else when he goes to Karnataka and Mansarovar.”
He called on the Centre to formulate a law to build the Ram Temple on the lines of the Somnath Temple, which was constructed with help from Sardar Patel. “There is no other way it can be done,” he said.
BJP leaders have been giving controversial statements about Ram Temple.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the Narendra Modi led government could opt for the legislative route in Parliament for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya if the desired solution of Ram Mandir does not arrive through the court, when it has adequate numbers in both Houses.
He said it will be a “true tribute” to VHP stalwart Ashok Singhal, Mahant Sri Ramchandra Das Paramhans (former head of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas in Ayodhya) and karsewaks.
Mukut Bihari Verma, a minister in Yogi Adityanath’s government in Uttar Pradesh , has sparked a controversy , saying that the Ram temple will be built in Ayodhya because “the Supreme Court is ours”.
“BJP has come to power on the commitment that Ram Mandir will be constructed, it is our determination. Mandir hamara aradhya hai .. mandir banega .. mandir bananey ki liye hum log sankalpbadh hai ,” he said, talking to journalists in Bahraich on Saturday.
On being asked but the matter is sub-judice, the minister confidently said, “Supreme Court main hain tabhi toh! .. Supreme Court bhi toh hamara hi hai na, Supreme Court bhi hamara hai … nyay palika bhi hamari hai .. Vidhan Palika bhi hamari hai .. yeh desh bhi hamara hai .. mandir bhi hamara hai (The matter is in Supreme Court that’s why as the Supreme court is ours,The Judiciary, administration , the nation as well as the Ram Temple belong to us,” said the BJP MLA
