On his second day visit to the poll bound state Karnataka the Congress President, Rahul Gandhi addressed a public gathering in Jamakhandi.

The leader while addressing the people attacked Central government and said,”todays government is only for rich but the Congress Govt in Karnataka is inclusive. We have worked for the farmers. Water is farmers’ lifeline and our Govt has worked to launch various irrigation projects.”

The leader compared the Karnataka government of Congress with the BJP government in Gujarat and said,”Karnataka gives free education to women up to Post Graduation. This is unlike the Govt in Gujarat, where most of the institutes are privatised and students have to bear the burden of hefty fees.”

We will never say we alone have changed this nation. We recognise the strength of this nation and it is the youth and women who have transformed this country. And we stand with you
Rahul Gandhi also acclaimed that it is just the Congress government which has cahged the country but it happened because of the efforts of youth and women who have transformed this country. And we stand with you.

Earlier Gandhi also flagged of  ‘Vrukshathon 2018’ Half Marathon in Vijayapura.

We insist for a JPC probe in Rafale Deal: Anand Sharma

New Delhi, Dec 14: Reacting to the Rafale verdict, Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma said that there is no reason for the Bharatiya Janata Party to celebrate as the Supreme Court has not commented on many fundamental aspects of the Rafale deal and we continue to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee on the matter.

Sharma told media that the apex court has not gone into many important aspects of the deal.

“Supreme Court has not commented on many important aspects. We continue to demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee(JPC) on the issue.

“There is no reason for PM and BJP Govt to celebrate Supreme Court order which in itself is contradictory. Honourable SC has said it won’t be proper for it to go into details”.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed all the petitions seeking court-monitored probe into the purchase of 36 Rafale jet fighters in ready to fly conditions holding that the decision-making process was not in doubt.

A bench of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice Sanjay Krishan Kaul and Justice K.M. Joseph said it cannot go into the question of pricing and choice of offset Indian partner by the French aircraft manufacturer Dassault.
