Modi government to implement NRC in all states : Khattar

Chandigarh, Sep 21: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday announced that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented in all states.

” The Central Government has made it clear that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) is a national issue and that it will be implemented in states, including Haryana,” Khattar said during a press conference in Chandigarh.

Khattar announced when the Election Commission of India is set to announce dates for Haryana assembly elections.

Khattar is campaigning for the elections on the issues of NRC, Article 370 abrogated in Jammu and Kashmir and many other issues.

” Citizens of other countries have no right to stay here without permission,” Khattar added.

Home Minister AMit Shah , recently in Assam, said that NRC will be implemented as no infiltrator is allowed to stay in India.

There were reports that all the states have been asked by the central government to built detention centres to keep those are excluded fromn the NRC list.

Many Opposition parties are against the implementation of NRC.West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata banherjee recently met PM Modi at his residence to change names of West Bengal.

After her meeting , She told reporters that she had no discussion with the PM on the National Register of Citizens (NRC), of which she has been a vocal critic.

“Why should I talk about NRC? It’s not happening in my state,” she said, cautiously avoiding any political attacks.
