Himachal Pradesh, Oct 18, 2016: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday arrived in a poll-bound Himachal Pradesh to address a BJP’s Parivartan rally in Mandi district. He also inaugurated three major power projects in the state.
Addressing a rally in Mandi district, Modi said that the world is talking about the bravery of the Indian Army following India’s surgical strikes against Pakistani terrorists last month.
He added that it is the land of the brave and that every family in Mandi has a member in the Army. He also said the BJP’s promise of One Rank One Pension (OROP) has been fulfilled by his government.
Modi is visiting the state for the first time after becoming the Prime Minister of India. The state which is scheduled to go for election next year.
The power projects that Prime Minister Modi inaugurated include Koldam project (800 MW) executed by National Thermal Power Corporation, Parvati Stage II project (530 MW) of National Hydropower Corporation and Rampur hydropower project (412 MW) of Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam. They will be contributing majorly to the state welfare.
Besides the rally in Mandi, the BJP leader will also address a rally in Nahan as the state gears up for state Assembly elections in 2017.
Keeping the upcoming elections in mind, BJP is not leaving any stone unturned to win the battle.
