New Delhi, Oct 4: A group of about 40 enthusiastic participants of ‘Mission Gange’ on Thursday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The enthusiasts will embark on a rafting expedition to raise awareness on cleaning the River Ganga.
The delegation includes 8 mountaineers who have courageously climbed Mount Everest and is led by Bachendri Pal, the first Indian woman to reach the summit of Mount Everest.
A month-long rafting expedition ‘Mission Gange’, will see the group travel through the river from Haridwar to Patna, with halts at Bijnor, Narora, Farrukhabad, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, and Buxar.
In all these 9 cities, the group will raise awareness about keeping the Ganga clean and will also conduct cleaning activities.
