Kashmir, 5 May; After recent terrorist attacks on policemen, rifle snatching and bank loot incidents in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army, security forces and police launched a massive “cordon and combing” operation in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday.
However, on Thursday evening, terrorists again tried to disrupt the operation and attacked a vehicle carrying soldiers of 62 Rashtriya Rifles near the Imam Sahib area.
In the attack, one civilian driver was killed and four soldiers were injured.
According to the officials, the Hizbul Mujahideen has claimed responsibility for the attack. The driver who was killed has been identified as Nazir Ahmad, a resident of Kachdoora village in Shopian.
