Militant killed as army foils infiltration bid along LoC

Jammu, Nov 14, 2016: One militant was killed as army foiled an infiltration bid amid Pakistan Army’s shelling and firing on Monday at one of three Indian positions on the LoC in Rajouri and Jammu districts.

Defence spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Manish Mehta told media that the Pakistan Army used 82mm mortars and automatic fire to target Indian positions in Naushera and Sunderbani sectors on the LoC in Rajouri district around 2.40 p.m. today (Monday).”

During the exchange of fire, one terrorist was killed in Naushera sector, he said.

The Pakistan rangers also violated the ceasefire in Pallanwalla sector of Jammu district.

“Our troops effectively retaliated to Pakistan shelling and firing at all three places. Firing is still on at these places,” he said.
