Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma has appealed the union government for carrying out the surgical strikes on multiple camps of various northeast militant organizations.
Sangma asked the government to conduct the surgical operation on many militant groups which are located in Myanmar and Bangladesh.
Meghalaya CM praised the Indian Army for conducting surgical strikes across LOC in POK.
He told reporters that “The Centre should deal with the installations of anti-national elements on foreign soil since going beyond the international boundary is not a state subject,”
“Similar situation exists in the North East and beyond the international boundaries of the region. Therefore, the central government should act tough against these militants in the north-eastern states,” he added.
Furthermore, the CM said that surgical strikes were the fitting way in dealing with the terrorists and government shall continue to do the same.
“Any effective measure resorted to by the security agencies in the interest of the nation have to be welcomed and appreciated,” he narrated.
