Meghalaya by-election: 46.89 % Voter Turnout in Ranikor, 48 % in South Tura till 1 pm

Shillong, Aug 23: Amid tight security, by-elections to two Assembly constituencies- Ranikor and South Tura in Meghalaya is being held on Thursday.

Till 1 pm 46.89% in Ranikor and 48% in South Tura voter turn out was recorded.

In the first two hours, about 7.5 per cent votes were cast.

By-polls to the two assembly constituencies was necessitated following the resignations of former five-time Ranikor MLA Martin M Danggo and MLA of South Tura Agatha K Sangma.
