Agartala, April 28: Tripura chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb created a buzz saying mechanical engineers should not opt for the civil services, but civil engineers should as they have the experience to build society.

Addressing an event to mark Civil Service Day in Agartala, he said, “Earlier, people from the arts stream used to become civil servants. Later, doctors and engineers opted for the civil services. However mechanical engineers should not opt for the civil services, and civil engineers should, for civil services in administration need to build a society and civil engineers have that knowledge”.

His recent remark comes nearly two days after he claimed now Indian women are dependent on beauty parlours all because of marketing and advertisements as earlier they used natural things.

Not only this, deb also claimed that the international beauty contests were a farce as the results were all predetermined and took a dig at Diana Hayden “Miss World 1997”.

Deb started a controversy last week for his “Internet in the Mahabharata era” remark.
