New Delhi, Feb 8: Reacting to Ministry of Defence’s dissent on Rafale negotiations, Chairman of The Hindu Group N Ram said “the story is complete in itself because we have not dealt with Manohar Parrikar’s role in this and that needs investigation.”

“He (Manohar Parrikar) doesn’t say they’re monitoring. It appears that PMO and French President office are monitoring. This isn’t monitoring, but parallel negotiations conducted behind back of Indian negotiating team”, Ram told news agency ANI.

The Editor further stated “the role of then Defence Minister has to be separately investigated further, whether he was consulted on it. He clarifies that he has been in touch. But he is not taking any stand”.

Ram also targeted Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and accused the ruling government of covering up the issue.

‘I don’t need any certificate from Nirmala Sitharaman. Now they are in big trouble and trying to cover up.

“My only advice to her would be, ‘You are not involved in transaction, why you take upon yourself the burden of justifying the indefensible?’, he asked.

The Hindu on Friday published a report: “Defence Ministry protested against PMO undermining Rafale negotiations”.
