Mandsaur rape case: BJP leader asks victim’s kin to ‘thank’ party MP

Indore June 30: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sudarshan Gupta has kicked up a controversy by asking the Mandsaur rape victim’s family to thank his party MP Sudhir Gupta for visiting them at the hospital.

Sudarshan Gupta, a legislator of the BJP, was caught on camera in Indore’s MY Hospital, asking the parents of a minor rape victim to express gratitude to his party MP Sudhir Gupta for visiting them at the hospital to inquire about the minor girl’s condition.

The insensitivity of BJP leaders was on display when Mandsaur MP Sudhir Gupta was talking to the parents, all paused for pictures as a proof that BJP leader went to meet the victim’s family . .

MY Hospital Superintendent said, “Her condition is better than the one she was brought in & she’s out of danger now. She’s being given semi-solid food & is speaking today. We’re monitoring her. She was also examined by doctors called from outside.”



Moreover, there are reports that a second accused was arrested in connection with the Mandsaur rape case on Friday. Police said that he too had raped the 8-year old girl.

Mandsaur Kotwali police station in-charge inspector Jitendra Singh Yadav said they have arrested Asif (24) resident of Madarpura, the same locality from where Irfan (20) hails, and works as labourer in construction sites.

Protests erupted in Madhya Pradesh’s Mandsaur on 29 June after a man allegedly abducted a minor girl and raped her before attempting to kill her.

The incident occurred on the evening of 26 June. The accused, identified as Irfan alias Bhaiyu (20), was arrested late on 27 June, a police official told.
