Lucknow, Sep 28: The frustrated youth who hurled shoe at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday during his Kisan Yatra in Sitapur district was sent to jail on Tuesday, police said.
The accused Hari Om Mishra is slated to be present in the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court on Wednesday.
However, Gandhi had accused the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party for the attack though the assailant had told police that he was miffed with Gandhi’s “lies”.
“Rahul Gandhi has been talking of loan waivers for the farmers and jobs to the unemployed while his party has ruled the country for the past 60 years … what happened during the Congress regime, they ruined the nation” he told police during interrogation, soon after his arrest.
The accused Mishra was reportedly frustrated as even after completing a journalism course he was unemployed.
