Man detained for sending threat email to kidnap Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter


New Delhi, Jan 15: The Delhi Police on Tuesday detained a man on the charge of sending an email threat to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Office to kidnap his daughter.

“A person has been detained for questioning by Cyber unit of Delhi Police’s Special Cell in connection with the anonymous mail received by Delhi Chief Minister’s Office threatening to kidnap CM Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter”, news agency ANI reported.

The accused has been identified as Vikas and the Cyber Cell team had tracked his IP address.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

On January 9, Chief Minister’s Office received an anonymous email, threatening to kidnap Kejriwal’s daughter.

Following this a complaint was lodged and forwarded the email to Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik.

A Personal Security Officer was deployed for the security of Kejriwal’s daughter.
