Kolkata, Oct 11: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday accused the Central government of instigating unrest in the hills.

“The peace at the hills was disturbed for a few days due to Delhi’s instigation but peace has returned to the hills again. No one will be able to create unrest in the hills and in Jangalmahal. The government will take action against those who try to instigate,” she said.

She also appealed to the people of the hills and Jangalmahal not to listen to any form of instigation or rumours.

Banerjee, who was in Jhargram for administrative meeting, described the state as a land where people of all religions were living happily.

“We keep Dalits close to our heart, protect tribals and the minorities in West Bengal. This is the culture of West Bengal,” she added.

Kolkata, Feb 18: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said that the $1.8 billion Punjab National Bank fraud was fuelled during demonetisation and demanded the unearthing of the “full truth” behind the scam.

“This is just a tip of the iceberg. This big bank fraud was fuelled at the time of #DeMonetisation. Big money-laundering happened during DeMo. Key bank officials were changed. Who are these people put in? There are more banks involved. The full truth must come out,” she tweeted.

Banerjee had earlier demanded a thorough investigation into the Punjab National Bank fraud and said she would not let the central government off the hook until the people’s money is secured.

Accusing the Centre of trying to take away the people’s money deposited in the banks with its Financial Resolution and Deposit Insurance (FRDI) Bill, the Chief Minister said she had written “strong” letters to the Finance Ministry to demand withdrawal of the bill.

Bhartiya Janta Party leader and Madhya Pradesh minister, Yashodhara Raje Scindia warned people to vote them saying that they will not get benefits of Ujjawala Yojana if they would vote Congress.

The Madhya Pradesh minister for Commerce, Industries and Employment said that the scheme which was introduced by the BJP will not be provided if people vote for Congress.

“We have our government. If you don’t elect our candidate, then you will remain backward,” she added plainly.

“Aap agar panje ko vote doge toh hum panje ko kyun denge? Hum panje ke haath se kyun denge aapko chulha?

Nahi denge. Aaapko apni samajhdaari se aisi party ko vote dena hai jiski har cheez aapke gharon mein aa jaaye”

“Chulhe ki yojana, kyun nahi aayi aapke paas? Bharatiya Janata Party, kamal ki yojana hai. Aap panje mein vote doge, aapke paas aaegi nahi. Aap kamal ko doge, aapke paas aaegi. Seedhi baat hai”
