New Delhi, Aug 25 : The Central Bureau of Investigation has submitted a video footage of Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in a United Kingdom court, showing proper natural light in the Cell Number 12, where embattled businessman Vijay Mallya will be lodged after extradition.
In a nearly 10-minute long video, the CBI has highlighted various facilities that will be provided to the fugitive liquor baron inside the barrack number 12 that includes a television set, private toilet, a washing area, availability of proper natural light, access to library and a courtyard for walking .
The CBI submitted the jail video as demanded by the UK court after Mallya’s defence lawyers had challenged the extradition on grounds that he is unlikely to get a fair trial in India under inhumane conditions in prison.
Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London had asked India to compile a detailed video of barrack 12 after Mallya complained about conditions of Indian Jail
