Malegaon blast: Hyderabad HC admits discharge pleas of Sadhvi Pragya, Sameer Kulkarni


New Delhi, July 30: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday admitted a discharge application pleas of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and  Sameer Kulkarni in connection with 2008 Malegaon blast case. 

The court will hear the matter on August 13.

Sadhvi was granted bail by the Bombay High Court last year in April on a surety of Rs 500,000 after getting a clean chit by the National Investigation Agency in May 2016.

While a special NIA court granted bail to Sameer Kulkarni in October last year, on a bond of Rs 50,000 on the grounds of parity.

Seven people were killed and nearly 100 injured in a bomb blast that took place on September 29, 2008, at Malegaon, a Muslim-dominated power loom town in Nasik district of north Maharashtra.
