Major boost: Security forces detain LeT leader Abu Ukasha in Kupwara


In a major boost for the security forces, a top Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander Abu Ukasha was detained in Lolab area of Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.

As per reports, Ukasha was arrested by a joint police team from Sogam market around 7:00 am today.

After initial interrogation, the apprehended person was identified as the top terrorist commander of Lashkar-e-Toiba.

Sources later confirmed that arrested person is LeT commander Abu Ukasha alias Hanzullah of Pakistan.

One grenade and around 38 thousand cash was also recovered from him.

Within an hour of his arrest, a fierce encounter started in nearby forest of Sogam in Lolab valley of Kupwara district .

Investigations into the case have been launched.
