Maharashtra: Suspected ISI spy arrested from Nagpur

New Delhi, Oct 8: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad on Monday arrested a person working at Brahmos Unit in Nagpur on the charges of spying.

The accused has been identified as Nishant Agrawal, who is reportedly working in the sensitive technical research section of the BrahMos Missile Research Centre, since four years.

Inspector General of Police (UP ATS), Aseem Arun told media “Very sensitive info was found on his personal computer. The name of the person is Nishant Agarwal. We also found evidence of him chatting on facebook with Pakistan based IDs.

Following a tip-off, the police and other agencies conducted raids early morning raid and arrested him.

He has been booked under the Official Secrets Act.

According to the preliminary information, Agarwal was reportedly passing on certain classified and secret information to Pakistan and other countries. Further probe into the matter is underway.

Among other things, the BrahMos Missile Research Centre is involved in making certain critical components for the BrahMos missile.
