Madhya Pradesh: Two forest guards shot at by stone mining mafia

Gwalior, Sep 13: Members of a stone mining mafia shot at two forest guards in Gwalior’s Tighra police station limits last night. 

Both the security guards, one forest in-charge and the other an ex-army man, have been admitted to a nearby hospital for the treatment.

Injured have been identified as Harivallabh Chaturvedi and Harishchandra Chouhan.

The police have started the investigation.

Speaking to media, a forest offcial said “There are strict directions from forest officials that no one will enter the forest without police’s help”.

“Even after such directions, no one pays heed to them. Our workers were shot at even then also neither any DFO or SDO registered FIR in this regard”, he added.
