Bhopal, Aug 10: In yet another incident of sexual assault at a shelter home, a differently-abled girl was allegedly raped in Bhopal.
Following the complaint filed by a girl, an accused man has been detained on charges of raping her.
“Victim said the accused raped her 2-3 times. The incident took place at shelter home’s hostel. 20-25 girls stay at shelter home. Case registered”, SP Bhopal told media.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday ordered monthly inspection of women’s hostels in the state after the sexual assault case in a shelter home came to light and when the country is already shocked with Muzaffarpur and Deoria shelter home case.
On August 5, at least 24 girls were rescued from the shelter home after a 10-year-old girl complaint the police that they were being sexually abused.
Last month, in short-stay girls’ shelter home run by an NGO in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, 34 minor girls were allegedly sexually assaulted.
