New Delhi, Dec 11: The Congress party emerged as the largest party in Madhya Pradesh with 114 seats, which is two short of the majority.
After an eventful day, the counting of votes in Madhya Pradesh was concluded on Wednesday.
As per the Election Commission, the final tally for the 230-seat Madhya Pradesh Assembly showed Congress winning 114 seats, while the ruling BJP came close with 109 in the contest.
The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) extended their support to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh to cross the halfway mark of 116 seats.
The polls which were held on November 28, witnessed 74.61% voter turnout.
