Ministry of External Affairs on Friday told Pakistan to handover world-wide terrorist Dawoof Ibrahim. MEA said that his residence has been confirmed by the United Nation.
The spokesperson of MEA Vikas Swarup said, “Dawood Ibrahim continues to remain on the designated list as global terrorist, UN has also confirmed that he resides in and has properties in Pak.”
Many reports have it that the world-wide infamous terrorist Dawood Ibrahim lives in Pakistan with his family. Dawood still remain on the most wanted list as global terrorist.
The UN’s 1267th committee’s monitoring team continues to retain Dawood’s passport as a valid document. The UN has also confirmed that he resides in and has properties in Pakistan,” he said, adding, that the world body continues to keep a regular watch on Dawood Ibrahim.
Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar wrote a letter to his Pakistani equal, which stated the agenda for talks which “is to put an end to cross border terrorism and incitement of violence.”
Swarup in the press conference said, “The foreign secretary has underlined that not just India but the larger region is aware that Pakistan is the prime perpetrator of terrorism. In his letter, foreign secretary has conveyed (to Pakistan) that India seeks result-oriented dialogue on the subject.”
Pakistan as usual has denied the claims of Dawood being in Pakistan despite the confirmation made by UN of his residential address.
Accusing Pakistan of hiding global terrorist, MEA said, ”To whom they have provided sanctuary for a long time to face justice for his crimes. Hope Pak will heed international opinion on this issue.”
Though, UN continues to keep regular watch on Dawood Ibrahim.
