Life is not a pre-written fate, it’s a book of blank pages

that we fill with the ink of our different phases

It doesn’t matter we fill it with tears, or smiles

because these ups n downs actually adds variety in one’s life

Don, t move so fast or too slow,  just be on time to actually grow

a fast horse may win the race but missed out precious moments of peace

work like a catalyst to enjoy the present and gradually act to strengthen the base

It’s completely in your hand how to design

Whether to curse the destiny or to act with hard work of divine.

Because in the last u will find nothing else

But sweet and salty memories of life-time

Harari to deliver lecture on new challenges of 21st century in Mumbai

Yuval Noah Harari

Mumbai, Nov 20 : Renowned historian Yuval Noah Harari will deliver a lecture on “The New Challenges of the Twenty-first Century” here in December and will talk about the impending challenges that may surface in light of environmental and technological developments taking place.

At the Penguin Annual Lecture, scheduled to be held on December 16, Harari will focus on the climate change affecting our ecosystem and the new technologies that might disrupt human society.

“I have had a long and fulfilling relationship with India. This is not my first visit, but this time is likely to be more special than others before…

“I am excited to initiate this discussion, seed a thought and perhaps even some ideas that will help people recognise and respond to the changes going around. India is one of the most dynamic countries where the old and new coexist, each finding space to fit and grow. This makes it unique and exciting for historians, such as myself, to witness how the nation thinks, reacts and adapts,” said Harari, who has a PhD in history from Oxford University, and now lectures at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specialising in world history.

His most recent book, “21 Lessons for the 21st Century”, is a probing and visionary investigation into today’s most urgent issues as we move into the uncharted territory of the future.

Previous speakers of the annual lecture include spiritual leader the Dalai Lama, Bharat Ratna awardee and former president of India A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, internationally best-selling author Dan Brown, and writer Ruskin Bond, among others.

Lotus n Roses

Lotus rose

We pinned our hopes on “lotus”

It proved another name for loot us

It was our folly to take a hiatus

From soft and caring touch of “hand”

Time has come to change our lot

Let us put behind all this rot

The mud of adversity failed to bloom lotus of joy

Put back the reins of power

Back in those hands

Whose supreme leader

Once held those famous roses

We had enough of thorns which came disguised as lotus

We’ll have our Roses which is perfect for every moment

One rose is enough for the dawn as it clears the odour of hate

Because a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose

KCR Gaddar

Hyderabad, Oct 17 : Former Maoist ideologue and revolutionary balladeer Gaddar on Wednesday said he was ready to contest the elections against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao as the joint candidate of opposition parties.

Gaddar, who met Congress president Rahul Gandhi last week, said if all opposition parties make a request to him to contest from Gajwel and ensure that the opposition votes are not divided, he will contest the December 11 election.

Rao, who is also President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), is seeking re-election from Gajwel in the coming elections to Telangana assembly. Gaddar described Gajwel as his birthplace.

Gaddar said he did not belong to any party but would support any party to end what he calls ‘neo-feudalism’ in Telangana. Stating that Telangana state was created with the sacrifices of martyrs, he said the change has not come in the state.

Gaddar, whose real name is Gummadi Vittal Rao, told reporters at Kamareddy that after 70 years he has enrolled himself as a voter and had now launched people’s movement to end ‘neo-feudalism’.

“My fight is to end autocratic rule and realise the dreams of the martyrs of Telangana,” said Gaddar, who plans to campaign against TRS by singing “people’s songs”.

He appealed to people to make Rahul Gandhi’s public meeting at Kamareddy on October 20 a huge success.

Gaddar’s son G.V. Surya Kiran had joined Congress in April this year. He is said to be keen to contest the Assembly elections.
