Kolkata, May 29: A day after 50 Trinamool Congress leaders were inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the TMC alleged only one suspended MLA joined the BJP at a gunpoint.

“One suspended MLA of Trinamool joined BJP yesterday. The others were from Congress and CPI(M). The number of councillors is 6. That too they were forced at gunpoint to do so”, TMC tweeted on its official page.

The development took place just five days after the BJP breached the Trinamool fortress, led to the saffron outfit taking control of three municipalities in the state from the ruling party.

Trinamool Congress-turned-BJP leader Mukul Roy’s son Subhrangshu Roy, a two-term MLA from Bijpur constituency, Tushar Kanti Bhattacharya from Bishnupur (Trinamool) and Debendra Roy of Hemtabad (CPI-M) were the MLAs who joined the saffron party.
