Chaibasa Mp Laxman Gilua has been appointed as a new BJP chief of Jharkhand on Wednesday by the members of the party.
“BJP President Amit Shah accepted the resignation of Tala Marandi and appointed MP Laxman Gilua as the state BJP President,” a party statement said.
Gilua will take over after Tala Marandi, resigned on August 11. An announcement to this effect was made on Wednesday in New Delhi by the BJP central leadership.
However, the central leadership has again put its faith on a tribal leader after Marandi the first tribal BJP chief in the state, who was under the controversy because of his son Munna Marandi who allegedly married a minor girl in June.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Raghubar Das was among the first to congratulate Gilua for his new role. At the core committee meeting Ramlal, Saudan Singh, Tridev Singh Ravat, union minister Sudarshan Bhagat, former state president Ravindra rai, MP Sunil Singh and former CM Arjun Munda were present.
