The extreme weather conditions have claimed 10 lives including women and children in Arunachal Pradesh as a landslide hit West Kameng district on Friday.
Police said five bodies have been found till yet and a search operation is underway.
“There have been torrential rains for two days which seems to have triggered the landslide. The victims were residing below a small hillock, which caved in, burying the 10 people,” said a district official.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Governor J.P. Rajkhowa announced Rs 1 lakh compensation to the family of each victim.
