The chief of Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) Lalu Prasad turned 69 on June 11 and he celebrated his birthday with fun and frolic.
The Lalu Yadav celebrated his birthday with much fanfare as his family’s political fortunes are rising again.
Since early morning the mood festivity can clearly be seen at his sprawling bungalow at 10 Circular Road as the house was decked up with fresh flowers.
Lalu Prasad was surrounded by his family members- his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, elder son Tej Pratap, who is the state’s Health Minister, younger son Tejaswi, who is the Deputy Chief Minister, and daughter Misa Bharti, who has recently been elected to Rajya Sabha — and dozens of RJD workers.
Lalu Prasad cut a 69 pound cake on his 69th birthday and also distributed sweets to everyone who came to greet him.
A party leader said that, “After a gap of nearly a decade, such a celebration has taken place. It’s like the period unitl 2005 when the RJD was in power.”
The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also visited Lalu Prasad’s house to greet him.
Lalu Prasad said his grandchildren had also called him to wish him on his birthday from different parts of the country and abroad.
Lalu Prasad Yadav recalled that his birthday has been celebrated publicly since he was chief minister in the early 1990’s. He also added that he was not sure on which day he was born but June 11 was mentioned as his birth date on a school certificate.
