Ladakh to have rotational headquarter in Leh, Kargil

Srinagar, Feb 15: Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday announced that the newly granted Ladakh division will have a rotational headquarter in Leh and Kargil.

The announcement took place after meeting members of the Kargil Coordination Committee that has been spearheading a peaceful protest seeking a rotational headquarter in the Ladakh division.

“Two additional divisional commissioners, one each for Leh and Kargil districts, will be announced shortly.

“The divisional commissioner and the inspector general of police (IGP) will spend half the year in Leh and the rest in Kargil town,” Malik announced said after meeting with members of the Kargil Coordination Committee.
